I’m in the last decade of my teaching career, so I’ve gotten reflective. I’ve been thinking back over the almost 30 years I’ve been in the classroom and all the students I’ve met. This is a growing collection of what will eventually be 180 stories to represent the 180 days scheduled on the school calendar where I teach. These are stories about my students and the lessons I have learned from them based on my experiences in, and out, of the classroom.

Read about the things I learned about myself as my life completely fell apart and I did the only thing I could do, I grabbed the metaphorical duct tape and put my dreams back together again the only way I knew how, by trying one new thing after another until something finally worked.

Then I’d start on the next problem. So far, it’s working out ok..

Here’s where you can read about some of the big ideas and complex parts of life that I stop and think about when life gets crazy and I suddenly stop and realize I’m doing things because “that’s how we do things” instead of really thinking about what is going on, what I need to happen, and what it is that I’m actually responding to.
